Thank you everyone for welcoming me so warmly to Kenfig! I am really glad to be here and
excited about the prospects for the Reserve.
I had a very productive (albeit very wet!) first day exploring my new area, finding new wildlife
and getting my wet feet (note to self: purchase waders)! I found two types of fungi that
haven’t been recorded before at Kenfig: Rhopographus Filicinus and Sarcoscypha Coccinea.
Being able to find new records for the area is fantastic and I hope that there will be many
more new finds to come to add to the vast array of rare and exciting species at Kenfig NR.
I’m really looking forward to meeting the rest of the trustees. The meetings I’ve had so far
have given me a good insight into what the Trust is hoping to achieve with Kenfig and how
we can all work together to make it happen.
Chris
